Artist's Statement:
I have enjoyed art since childhood and my art is a reflection and integration of my many interests and classical studies and pursuit of artistic expression. As a child I was nurtured and influenced by the natural beauty and the historic magnificence of my birthplace. I was further influenced by my study of historical poetry. Throughout my life I have also enjoyed reading the poetry of of the great Tang Dynasty poets and 'ci' poetry. 'Ci' poetry originated in the Tang Dynasty and was fully developed in the Song Dynasty. It is identified by certain tunes and is composed with a specific number of lines and words.

Other important influences in my art and life are my study of the Chinese classics, the historic philosophy of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi and the study of Buddhist and Taoist religious doctrines. In my art, I incorporate traditional Chinese elements into a unique form of expression and composition to create intimate and contemplative landscape.

Using traditional Chinese painting techniques and elements, ( mountains, water, flowers and birds) in a unique and contemporary style, I work to artistically express the magnificent, boundless, and timeless essence of nature. My work invites the viewer to become one with the landscape, and to contemplate the wonder and thoughts of the inner world in the remote solitude found in nature.
